Peru is also a haven for surfers, and Mancora Beach is one of its most famous spots. It is one of the most beautiful parts of the north coast too, and is a very cool and trendy place to visit. If hiking is more your leisure pursuit, then you should head to the Huaraz region, where you will find some of the most challenging trekking terrain you could hope for.

If you are looking for a bit of excitement and night life, then you should head for Iquitos, the town in the middle of the rain forest! This is architecturally fascinating, having been built by Europeans in the rubber boom early in the twentieth century. You will find an exciting night life, and excellent tourist facilities.
