When it comes to finding a hotel in London, it can be difficult to see the woods for the trees. There are hundreds, if not thousands of hotels in London which are probably more than good enough for your needs, but choosing the right one based on location and cost can be quite tricky.

The first thing you should consider is your location. Try to decide on the locations that you will be spending most of your time at during your stay. It obviously makes sense for you to try to find a hotel in that area, although you might actually want to find a hotel some distance away, if you enjoy travelling through London, which can be a great way of discovering new parts of the city that you haven’t seen before.

The main choice of course will be related to cost. There is a wealth of cheap hotels in London but finding the one for you takes research and just a little bit of luck. I tend to try and keep to a budget of under £100 for a night and for that sort of money you can find all sorts of hotels all across the city. If your budget doesn’t stretch quite that far then don’t fret. You can find hotels in London for half that price if you are willing to be a bit flexible on location, and if you don’t mind taking a bit of pot luck on the standard of the hotel then you can probably find something even cheaper than that!
